JoeAnna's House
True North Distributors is proud to support our friends at Prestige Hotels & Resorts with their incredible project - JoeAnna’s House.
JoeAnna’s House is the culmination of vision and intention of the Huber family of Kelowna, founders of Prestige Hotels & Resorts.
Josef and Anna Huber settled their family in the Okanagan in the 1960s. They were known for their compassion, generosity and kindness; the door of the Huber home was always open. With all family members contributing to their early endeavors in the hospitality industry, they felt very blessed to build a life that would allow them to serve others.
Joe and Anna had always taught the importance of giving back and the unparalleled value of a loving home. JoeAnna’s House is the manifestation of a deeper understanding of what it means to be family, of the responsibility that we have as a community to take care of one another, especially during difficult times.
In October 2017, the KGH Foundation announced a $7-million dollar campaign to build JoeAnna’s House. The communities of the Interior of BC rallied together to begin raising the funds needed to begin construction. One year later, October 2018, the official ground-breaking took place at the site. And, one year after that, October of 2019, the KGH Foundation received the keys to the home.
It took approximately 297 individuals to build JoeAnna’s House, including architects, engineers, consultants, trades, sub-trades and suppliers. True North Distributors is proud to have been a part of this incredible project.
From Prestige Hotels & Resorts:
“The community rallied together to build JoeAnna’s House, understanding how important it is for families to be by the sides of their loved ones who are receiving care at KGH. We are deeply grateful for the support of True North Distributors for their generous donation of all the linen, terry and bedding for JoeAnna’s House. Thank you to True North Distributors for their support to furnish the home, and ensure families have a safe and comfortable place to stay.”
